Scrabo Tower at Sunset, Newtownards

from £20.00

I was maybe 6 or 7, my nanny had forced me to eat barley sugars because apparently the green tone in my face made them well aware how close I was to throwing up on the good old ulster bus. In my head the pattern of the seats seem retro kinda cool but the smell of them, not so much. But here; barley sugars cure travel sickness, is it true? I dunno, Nana moon said so pass it on. We felt miles from home though, but my Granda set me on his knee, his arm was always my seatbelt on the buses, it was my most favourite thing. He pointed into the distance as the bus came over the carriageway from dundonald and said ‘can you see the top of the tower?’ that’s it - when you see it, that’s how you’ll know you’re almost home.
